Wall-E

Published by Jayvee under Animation, Movies

I’ve watched Wall-E and it’s the best damn show there is. I’m so touched with Wall-E. I thought EVE would lose Wall-E because she changed her board memory but it wasn’t. Woohh.. Others thought Wall-E is for kids but for me, Wall-E is not. My friend Nat-Nat told me that Wall-E is a none scripted movie but I don’t know if it’s true.

According to Wikipedia,

Wall-E(promoted with an interpunct as Wall-E) is a 2008 computer-animated science fiction film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The film was directed by Andrew Stanton. It follows the story of a robot named Wall-E who is designed to clean up a polluted Earth. He eventually falls in love with another robot named EVE, and follows her into outer space on an adventure.

After directing Finding Nemo, Stanton flet that Pixar achieved believable water physics and was willing to direct a film set in space. Most of the characters do not have actual human voices, but instead communicate with body language and robotic sounds, designed by Ben Burtt, that resemble voices. In addition, it is the first animated feature by Pixar to have segments featuring live action characters.

Walt Disney Pictures released it in the United Stated and Canada on June 27, 2008. The film gorssed $23.1 million on its opening day, and $63 million during its opening weekend in 3,992 theaters, ranking #1 at the box office. This ranks the third highest-grossing opening weekend for a Pixar film as of July 2008. Following Pixar tradition, Wall-E was paired with a short film titled Presto for its theatrical release. It has achieved highl positive reviews with an approval rating of 97% on the review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes. It is currently a strong contender for a Best Picture nod.

Some goofs from IMDb.com

  • Continuity: WALL-E first presents the plant to EVE while facing her directly. Later, when EVE replays the same scene in the Captain’s quarters, WALL-E is shown holding the plant from a 3/4 profile.
  • Continuity: Eve’s facial dirt markings disappear and re-appear. Eve gets several dirty markings on her otherwise pristine white exterior while in the garbage hold. A long dark stain runs down the right side (her left) of her ‘eye screen’. When she flies WALL-E and M-O out of the garbage hold into the corridor, and is photographed aiming her weapon at the steward robot, and in shot when locking the steward away, the marking is clearly gone. Immediately after ash she is flying down the corridor, followed by a growing group of faulty robots, the mark reappears. During the battle with the large contingent of of steward robots, in the beginning whe she shoots a steward, the mark is gone, but as she shileds herself when the ‘massage’ robot is let loose, the mark reappears.

Microsoft Office 2003 Activation Story

Published by Jayvee under Softwares

It started when my mom asked me some help because she can’t encode or edit her work. She told me that all her colleagues can’t get the Office running so it’s up to me to do it. I started with a virus scan but luckily, the scanner didn’t display any problems with viruses. Next is I tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it but sad to say, the problem still persists. What option left is calling through the telephone. My mom checked the phone to see if we can call and we can. I dialed the number shown on the screen. A voice confirmation told me that I should enter the Installation ID. I entered it all then I heard a voice saying “The product has been activated on another computer. If the confirmation is wrong, press 1 and you will be transferred to a customer service agent.” I pressed 1 and I was transferred to a customer service agent. It was a girl and she asked my name. Then I provided the 1st Installation ID. Then she asked me if it’s my first time to activate the product then I said yes. She told me to enter the Confirmation ID. I asked her if I would write it but she told me that it’s a 1 time confirmation. I wrote everything down. She told me if I need assistance and I said no. I was transferred to a voice confirmation telling me to rate the customer support. After that, the call ended.

It was my first time to do that and I was nervous. Talking to a customer service agent of Microsoft Inc. Wow, so much for a first timer.

What’s with the language?

Published by Jayvee under Community

I’ve finally updated my blog. After a while of no Internet at home, the busy times at home, I’ve finally done it. Anyway, ever wondering what’s with my title? As you can see, I’ve been to an Internet cafe in our neighborhood. We tried to download a game in one of the computers but we were caught. It’s OK for me to be told not to do it again but the owner which in fact, her parents is the friend of my parents keeps on repeating and repeating the same statement over and over. I mean, won’t you be provoked with what she said? She says that same statement then she went out. She comes in again and keeps on repeating. What wrong with her? For a f*cking game and you make the scenario worst? She should have told me to not to do it again in a friendly manner. Like, as we are neighbors. But no, she said it like I’m not her neighbor. She treats me like her regular customer. And she told me that I’m the one who is angry. I’m trying to be courteous and being good because that’s what I’m brought up with. To have good manners. I’ll just let it pass but I’ll never forget what she did to me. It’s easy to forgive but hard to forget. That’s who I am.

Joomla and Remote Website

Published by Jayvee under Joomla

I’ve ask my friend Jun about Joomla and he told me if I want a pure blog, WordPress is enough but if I want a flexible, content-rich website, I should use Joomla. Anyway, I’ve been thinking whether to push through with Joomla or not. With so much time and thinking, I decided to push through the beta test of Joomla. I’ve found a web host who serves 100Gb of Bandwidth, 350Mb Disk Space with MySQL, PHP and etc. for free. I’ve signed up and to my surprise, the site is up and running. By the way the web site it http://t-one.site40.net. I’ve downloaded Joomla 1.5 and I’m uploading it right now via FTP. A few more files and I’ll be done. I’ll just assign their attributes and proceed with the next step (I hope nothing bad will happen). To my reference, I scanned the installation manual of Joomla via PDF and instructed me to follow each step for each component is important for Joomla. I know it’s very tedious compared to Fantastico Auto Install but at least, you won’t have problems later on.

I’ll be setting things up. Put the site on Maintenance Mode and begin working on.

Joomla Shift?

Published by Jayvee under Blog

I’m having thoughts on moving from WordPress to Joomla. I see Joomla better than WordPress. But the problem is, I have to set everything up from the beginning to end but hey, it would be worked out. I just need to refurbish my blog because everything that I set up here is kinda… Bloggish. If you’re wondering what’s Joomla, Joomla is an Open Source Content Management System. Joomla is the successor of Mambo, just like WordPress as the successor of b2. I’ve first heard about Joomla through Jun my friend and a current member of DC Warez. He did a seminar about Joomla last DCE but sad to say, I didn’t listened to his speech and explanation of Joomla. He did use WordPress and Joomla in his blogs but I only have one domain name so, I’ll decide whether to use Joomla or not.

I did a demo of Joomla a while ago just to know the content and feeling of Joomla. There are some parts of Joomla where I still can’t get it. From banners to articles and as well as footers. Boy, talk about first time. I’ll read about Joomla more and maybe soon, I would decide whether I’ll use Joomla or not.

I’ve read about articles regarding Joomla and I find it very good and cool despite the hardships that they encounter. They also did a comparison about blog and content management. I think it’s a good thing to let content management handle your blogs because not only they handle it professionally but they do it cleanly. You can also see your other post and your recent post.

Like, so I reiterate that I would have to decide whether to use Joomla or not because I think it’s time to renew my blog site/website. After those months on WordPress, I have to shift. A new and humble beginning.
