Money or Land? Which is the root of all evil?
They say money is the root of all evil. But do you think land is the root of all evil? In the first place, what do you use to buy a land or lot? Money right? So that makes money the 2nd root of all evil. I recalled what I’ve learned in school that ancestors fight for their lives just to defend their land. But, upon defending that land, what do you do? Just let the weeds and unwanted plants grow? I mean, what do you get on that particular land? That bothers me at all. You need land to establish a house. Yeah right but what do you use to plant trees, flowers, grass, vegetables? Land. The same particular land. I really, really, really hate it when my mom talks about land stuff. Oh, have I told you about the feud on our family regarding what my uncle did to my grandmother’s land? Oh, that was hell. I mean, my grandmother agreed to let my uncle, which is her son, buy the lot for P200,000. Before he bought it, some buyer wants to buy the land for P400,000. In my mind, it’s twice the amount and it’s a sure shot because the buyer is not a relative of ours. He/She is interested on that lot. But, my grandmother pursued to let her son buy that land. My uncle made payments to my mom, to my other uncle, and to my cousin, which is the beneficiary of my late aunt Minda. The time came when it was my grandmother’s turn to be paid. My uncle didn’t pay her. Why? He got no money. No operation for 2 months. What the.. And I thought he is rich because he bought my cousin a car. He bought his own car. The wheel has turned again. I didn’t know that it occurred so fast. Another is when my mom borrowed my aunt Nitz share because she’ll gonna pay those overdue bills but my cousin Dorlyn, my uncle’s daughter, took part on the business. She said that they are not rich. They have no operation for 2 months, etc. And my mom flared out. She told her not to take part on that business. I don’t take part on that transaction because I’m not fond of it. So, now, the feud remains. I don’t know when this feud will gonna last but I’ll know when it’s gonna end. I’ll just keep it to my self. I don’t want to predict things.
